Tyvek shopping bag, made to order

Shopping bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference SP-tyvek0002. Stress points are bar-tacked or cross-stitched where a handle meets the body, and every seam is finished inside so the bag does not shed fibre onto its contents.

Material and construction

Tyvek is a spun high-density polyethylene sheet: light, tear resistant, water resistant and printable at high coverage.

It takes four-colour print well, and it creases in a way that reads as paper rather than plastic.

Edges are folded and stitched rather than cut raw, and the base is reinforced where the load sits, which is the difference between a bag that lasts a season and one that lasts a year.

Printing and branding

Branding here is a decision about surface as much as artwork: a solid block, a fine line or a stitched label each reads differently on the same bag. Where the artwork has shading we move to heat transfer or digital print; where it should feel raised, to embroidery.

We print to a Pantone reference rather than to what a monitor shows, and we send a digital mockup on the bag shape so the size can be judged before tooling. The order sheet records the fibre, the colour references and the print position, so a repeat enquiry can be quoted from it directly.

Size, colour and small changes

Sizes are made to your dimensions rather than picked from a list. If you have the object the bag has to hold, send its measurements and we will work out the allowance; if you have a drawing already, we cut to it. A pre-production sample is made from the agreed specification before anything is cut for bulk.

A taller body, a wider base, a shorter handle or a different closure is a pattern change rather than a new product, so it is quoted as a variation. Each change is priced before it is made, not after, so the quotation you approve is the one that is invoiced.

Packing, checks and shipping

Checks run at three points: on the cut panels, on the assembled bag, and on the packed carton. The reference is the sample you approved, so anything that drifts is caught before it is boxed. The order sheet records the fibre, the colour references and the print position, so a repeat enquiry can be quoted from it directly.

Goods ship from Ningbo, Shanghai or Shenzhen, by sea, air or rail depending on the date you need them, and we quote the options rather than assume one. Where a launch date is fixed, we work back from it to the booking date and confirm both in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Q1: Can our logo be printed on this shopping bag?

A1: Yes. On Tyvek we normally use flexo or screen printing, which holds thin lines and small type well. Send vector artwork where you have it; where you only have a photo, we redraw the mark and return it for approval.

Q2: What is this shopping bag made of, and how does it wear?

A2: This one is Tyvek. We pick the weight to match the job the shopping bag has to do, so a pouch that carries cosmetics is not built like one that carries groceries.

Q3: Can we change the size, colour or add a pocket?

A3: Yes. Sizes and colours are open, and small construction changes such as an inside pocket, a longer handle or a lining are quoted from your drawing. Anything that changes the pattern is re-sampled first.

Q4: How long does a sample take?

A4: A printed sample usually takes three to seven working days after artwork approval, and it ships by courier with tracking. The sample cost is credited against the production run.
