Jute drawstring pouch, made to order

Drawstring pouch, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference DR-PT0004. Seams are double stitched, raw edges are enclosed, and hardware is set with a backing plate so it does not pull through under load.

Material and construction

Jute is a bast fibre with a visible, slightly hairy weave and a natural tan tone. It is the most recognisable of the low-impact options and it photographs well, which is why retail buyers use it for seasonal and gift ranges.

The open weave takes large printed blocks better than small type, so we recommend artwork with generous shapes. An inner lamination keeps fine dust out of the bag and stops it marking pale contents.

Panels are cut on the grain and matched before sewing, so the weave runs the same way across the front, the gusset and the base instead of twisting at the corner.

Printing and branding

The print method follows the fibre, not the other way round: some marks that hold on canvas will not survive on a coated film, and some films take colour that cloth cannot. Where the artwork has shading we move to heat transfer or digital print; where it should feel raised, to embroidery.

Send the vector file and we will say which method holds up best on the fibre you chose, with a mockup on the bag shape and a physical reference for colour. Sampling runs once artwork and specification are agreed, and the signed sample becomes the document the whole run is measured against.

Size, colour and small changes

Measurements are taken from the finished bag, not from the flat panel, so what you specify is what a buyer measures with a tape on arrival. Carton dimensions are agreed with the order, because the packed size decides the freight cost.

Fabric colour, print colour, thread colour and hardware finish are specified separately, which is what makes a repeat order repeatable. A change to the pattern is drawn up and sent back as a dimensioned sketch before the sample is cut.

Packing, checks and shipping

Inspection is done against the signed sample, with the print position measured and the colour checked under a light box. Hardware is stocked in a small range of finishes, and a custom pull or plate can be tooled when the run justifies it.

Shipping documents are prepared from the same order sheet as the goods, so the invoice, the packing list and the carton marks agree. Consolidated shipments can combine this line with other bags on the same order, which keeps the freight per carton down.

A1: Yes. On jute we normally use screen printing, which holds thin lines and small type well. Send vector artwork where you have it; where you only have a photo, we redraw the mark and return it for approval.

A4: A printed sample usually takes three to seven working days after artwork approval, and it ships by courier with tracking. The sample cost is credited against the production run.
