Felt shopping bag, made to order

Shopping bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference SP-FT0002. Panels are cut on the grain and matched before sewing, so the weave runs the same way across the front, the gusset and the base instead of twisting at the corner.

Material and construction

Felt is a non-woven wool or wool-blend sheet, dense and matte. It is die cut rather than hemmed, so the bag has clean edges and no visible stitch line.

Laser cutting and appliqué work better than ink on felt; where print is needed it is usually a small tonal mark.

Seams are double stitched, raw edges are enclosed, and hardware is set with a backing plate so it does not pull through under load.

Printing and branding

Most of these bags leave the floor with a one or two colour screen print, because it reads at arm's length and costs least to set up. Heat transfer suits a small logo with fine detail, digital print carries gradients and photographs, and embroidery gives a raised mark without a second component.

We print to a Pantone reference rather than to what a monitor shows, and we send a digital mockup on the bag shape so the size can be judged before tooling. The order sheet records the fibre, the colour references and the print position, so a repeat enquiry can be quoted from it directly.

Size, colour and small changes

Sizes are made to your dimensions rather than picked from a list. If you have the object the bag has to hold, send its measurements and we will work out the allowance; if you have a drawing already, we cut to it. Carton dimensions are agreed with the order, because the packed size decides the freight cost.

Colour can be matched to a Pantone chip, to a fabric swatch or to a previous order, and small changes such as a longer handle, an inner pocket, a zip pull or a lining are part of the same conversation. Hardware, lining and thread are chosen against a physical swatch rather than a screen, which removes most of the surprises.

Packing, checks and shipping

Every order is inspected in line and again before packing, against the approved sample: print position, colour, stitch density, hardware function and measurement. Documents are prepared from the same order sheet as the goods, so the invoice, the packing list and the carton marks agree.

Cartons are counted and marked before they leave the floor, and the packing list is sent ahead of dispatch so your warehouse knows what is arriving. Delivery is quoted to your port or door, and the incoterm is stated on the order rather than assumed.
