Cotton cotton bag, made to order

Cotton bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference SP-CT0005. Zips are stitched through a tape that is wider than the teeth, so the seam does not pucker and the pull runs without catching at the curve.

Material and construction

Cotton is a woven cellulosic fibre: it breathes, it takes print on the surface rather than in a film, and it softens with every wash. We stock it as light muslin for pouches and as 8oz to 12oz canvas for totes, unbleached or dyed to a Pantone reference.

Printed cotton is usually screen printed, which keeps the ink inside the weave and leaves the hand of the cloth intact. Organic fibre and undyed natural shades are available on request.

Seams are double stitched, raw edges are enclosed, and hardware is set with a backing plate so it does not pull through under load.

Printing and branding

Most of these bags leave the floor with a one or two colour screen print, because it reads at arm's length and costs least to set up. Foil, deboss and a woven label are the other three routes, and each has a fibre it prefers: foil on satin, deboss on velvet, a label on anything coarsely woven.

Send the vector file and we will say which method holds up best on the fibre you chose, with a mockup on the bag shape and a physical reference for colour. Artwork is best sent as vector; where only a photograph exists we redraw the mark and return it for approval.

Size, colour and small changes

Sizes are made to your dimensions rather than picked from a list. If you have the object the bag has to hold, send its measurements and we will work out the allowance; if you have a drawing already, we cut to it. Small quantities are made on the same line as large ones, so a trial order is not a different product.

Handle type and drop, lining, inner pockets and labelling are all open to change, and each is priced before it is made rather than after. Anything that alters the pattern is quoted as a variation on this shape rather than as a new product.

Packing, checks and shipping

Every order is inspected in line and again before packing, against the approved sample: print position, colour, stitch density, hardware function and measurement. Hardware is stocked in a small range of finishes, and a custom pull or plate can be tooled when the run justifies it.

Bags are counted into export cartons with an inner poly bag for sea freight, and the carton marks are agreed before packing. Delivery is quoted to your port or door, and the incoterm is stated on the order rather than assumed.
